Safer streets
for all
It’s the good news everyone has been waiting for: the City of St. Louis is getting new streets, thanks in part to ARPA dollars. The City’s new Friendly Streets page and interactive map details exactly how this transformation will occur, starting with major arterial roadways like Kingshighway and Jefferson.https://arpa.stlouis-mo.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/StrongerSTL_Smaller.mp4
Safe streets make for better
neighborhoods and a #StrongerSTL.
To apply for ARPA funding, your organization must submit a well-crafted proposal response that clearly outlines how your requested funds will enhance the city or your organization. In your proposal, you must provide detailed information on your project’s objectives, scope, and anticipated impact on St. Louis.
Because our City’s streets should be
people friendly
No matter how you get around in St. Louis – by car, walking, biking, bus, or using a mobility aid – you should feel safe. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Biden-Harris administration, Great Rivers Greenway, Bi-State Development, The Missouri Department of Transportation, and St. Louis City staff, over $300M will be invested in significant street improvements from 2024-2027.
What’s happening right now? With new Traffic Calming Guidelines and an ADA Transition Plan in place, the City will begin transforming arterial City streets like Union, Grand, Jefferson and Kingshighway in Fall 2024 using ARPA dollars. Visit the Friendly Streets page for more details about the street transformation happening across St. Louis.
